PAS / ISO 17712 Certification

ISO/PAS 17712 establishes uniform procedures for the classification, acceptance, and withdrawal of acceptance of mechanical freight container seals. It provides a single source of information on mechanical seals which are acceptable for securing freight containers in international commerce. ISO/PAS 17712:2013 is not applicable to special-purpose seals, such as fibre-optic and sophisticated electronic seals.

ISO 17712 addresses all types of security seals usable on maritime containers. Since many other industries use the same seals, members of those industries also may choose to adopt ISO 17712.

Compliance with ISO 17712 requires independent confirmation in three areas:
- Physical testing to determine a seal's classification for physical strength.
- Process auditing of supplier security-related business processes.
- Physical testing that earns a "Pass" grade for evidence of tampering.

PAS / ISO 17712:2013 is a standard for machenical seals. CDG is the world leading company in PAS / ISO 17712 certification. Accoreding to C-TPAT guidelines & some other safety standard PAS / ISO 17712 certified seal is manadatory for containers & trucks. Call us today for PAS ISO 17712 certification in India & worldwide.

Halal Certification

Halal, as per Quaran, means 'permitted' or 'lawful'. Halal certification is required for food, cosmetics and other products which comes in direct contact with food items. In many countries like: Middle east, Saudi Arabia, Iran etc. Halal certification is required to sell the food items. Halal is often used in reference to foods and drinks, i.e. foods that are permissible for Muslims to eat or drink under Islamic Shari?ah (law). The criteria specifies both what foods are allowed, and how the food must be prepared. The foods addressed are mostly types of meat and animal tissue.

Halal trade refers to business of halal certified quality products which meet the internationally accepted food safety standards in production & hygiene. CDG has strategic tie ups with different HALAL certification agencies (Indian & overseas) to provide HALAL certification services in India. These organisations are different ISLAMIC religious organisations & they issue HALAL certificate following guidelines of 'Quaran'. HALAL audit is done by a 'Mualana' who should have proper knowledge of Quaran & ISLAM.

Kosher Certification

In English, Hebrew word kosher means "fit." The kosher laws define the foods which are fit for consumption for a Jew. Kosher law is basically a set of dietary rules about what to eat & how to eat. It also defines which food can’t be consumed (Non-Kosher). Kosher foods are those that conform to the regulations of kashrut (Jewish dietary law). Food that may be consumed according to halakha (Jewish law) is termed kosher. The kosher laws were transferred by G‑d to the Children of Israel in the Sinai desert. Moses taught them to the people and wrote the basics of these laws in Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14.

In Kosher Certification a ‘Rabbi’ inspects a food facility & ensured that a food is prepared in a Kosher way & all its ingredients are Kosher. Sometimes if a product is very simple / in natural form product sample can be inspected & Kosher Certification can be granted. CDG has tie up with different Rabbi & Jews organizations to issue Kosher certification in India & worldwide. CDG is a trusted & prominent Kosher certification agency.

Ingress Protection (IP) Marking

IP – This stands for the International Protection marking, or Ingress Protection marking a standard drawn up by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The IP Code reflects the degree of protection as "IP" followed by two numbers; the first digit shows the extent to which enclosures are protected against particles, and protection to others from enclosed hazards. The second digit indicates the extent of protection against water.

Various IP Ratings are as follows: -

IP44 Rating / IP44 Certification: The First digit (4) shows Protection against contact with live or moving parts inside the enclosure by tools, wires, or such objects of thickness greater than 1mm. Protection against ingress of small solid foreign bodies (diameter greater than 1mm) excluding the ventilation openings (intake and discharge of external fans) and the drain hole of enclosed machine, which may have degree 2 protection. The second digit indicates that water splashed against the enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effect

IP54 Rating / IP54 Certification: Fist digit (5) shows complete protection against contact with live or moving parts inside the enclosure. Protection against harmful deposits of dust. The ingress of dust is not totally prevented, but cannot enter in an amount sufficient to interfere with satisfactory operation of the machine. Second digit (4) shows that Water projected by a nozzle against the enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effect.

IP55 Rating / IP55 Certification: First digit (5) is already described above. The second digit (5) shows that water projected by a nozzle against the enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effect

IP56 Rating / IP56 Certification: The first digit (5) is already described above. The second digit (6) shows that water from heavy seas or water projected from jets shall not enter the machine in any harmful quantity.

IP65 Rating / IP65 Certification: The first digit (6) shows complete protection against contact with live or moving parts inside the enclosure and against the ingress of dust. Meaning of second digit (5) already described above.

IP66 Rating / IP66 Certification: The first digit (6) & the second digit (6) both are described above

We are a leading IP rating service provider in India.  Contact us for all your needs related to 'Ingress Protection Marking' in India.

RoHS2 Certification

What is the difference between Directive 2002/95/EC (RoHS) and Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS 2 or RoHS recast)?

Directive 2002/95/EC was issued in 2002 by the European Commission to reduce or eliminate hazardous materials in products worldwide. In July 2011, the Recast RoHS 2 Directive 2011/65/EU was published by the European Commission.  The scope of RoHS was expanded with this Directive to all electrical and electronic equipment, cables and spare parts with full compliance required by 22nd July 2019 or sooner depending on product category.  The most notable change is that now RoHS compliance is an integral part of the requirement for CE-marking of products.  All manufacturers of electrical/electronic products, devices or equipment must comply with the latest RoHS Directive before the CE mark can be placed on their products.  Other markings for RoHS compliance are no longer required as the CE mark now includes RoHS compliance. The Recast RoHS Directive is now a CE-marking directive. In plain English, what this means is that if you manufacture

According to old RoHS there are 6 hazardous substances which are as follows :-
1) Lead (0.1%)  2) Mercury (0.1%)  3) Cadmium (0.01%)  4) Hexavalent chromium (0.1%)    5) Polybrominated biphenyls (0.1%)  6) Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) (0.1%)

RoHS2 Directive has proposed 4 more substances :-
● Hexabromocyclododecane (HBCDD) (a brominated Flame Retardant)  ● Bis (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) ( a commonly uses plasticizer)  ● Butyl benzyl phthalate (BPP) ( a commonly used plasticizer)  ● Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) ( a commonly used plasticizer)

Before the recast there were 8 categories of products as follows:
1) Large Household appliances  2) Small Household appliances  3) IT and Communications equipment  4) Consumer Equipment  5) Lighting equipment  6) Electrical and electronic tools    7) Toys, leisure and sports equipment  10) Automatic Dispensers

After recast 3 product categories has been added
1) Medical devices  2) Monitoring and Control Instruments  3) All other electrical and electronic equipment not covered by any of these categories.

Who should go for RoHS2 Compliance?

Compliance with the RoHS2 directive is the responsibility of the Economic Operators, they are:
1) Manufacturer  2) Authorized Representative  3) Importers  4) Distributors
RoHS2 outlines each parties specific responsibilities in Articles 7,8,9, and 10.

SIL Certification

Safety Integrity Level (SIL Certification) & Performance Level (PL Certification)

Safety integrity level (SIL) is defined as a relative level of risk-reduction provided by a safety function, or to specify a target level of risk reduction. In simple terms, SIL is a measurement of performance required for a safety instrumented function (SIF). The requirements for a given SIL are not consistent among all of the functional safety standards. In the functional safety standards based on the IEC 61508 standard, four SILs are defined, with SIL 4 the most dependable and SIL 1 the least. A SIL is determined based on a number of quantitative factors in combination with qualitative factors such as development process and safety life cycle management.

Companies operating in industrial environments are responsible for reducing safety risks to an acceptable level, including hazards caused by malfunctions of complex systems. Functional safety failures can result in serious liability claims. IEC 61508 is the standard governing functional safety worldwide as well as the derived standards: EN ISO 13849-1, IEC 62061, ISO 26262 and the EN 5012X series. As functional safety demands continuous pour augmenter, safety instrument system designers for electrical / electronic and programmable electronics (E / E / PE) must integrate safety certified products (sensors, logic units and actuators) into Their systems and require manufacturers to Provide certificates / assessments In view to IEC 61508 / 61511.

In ‘SILCertification’ we certify your product in accordance with IEC 61508 and all relevant sector-specific safety standards. We provides independent safety assessments during the product development lifecycle & we conduct assessments though a combination of on-site inspections and documentation review, which result in an independent safety assessment report.

What we do

  • Assessment of project documentation
  • Assessment of product design & development
  • Assessment of business processes
  • Assessment of verification& validation activities
  • Analysis and Studies of Operational Safety
Assessment of Failure Modes, Effects and Diagnostics Analysis (FMEDA) analysis
  • audit / diagnosis Regarding the IEC 61508.
  • SIL certificate is issued by CDG after completion of all above mentioned steps
